Fish Species Found in Andaman

Andaman's rich and diverse marine environment supports a wide variety of game fish species, making it a dream destination for anglers seeking thrilling encounters. Among the most prized catches is the Giant Trevally (GT), a powerful and aggressive predator that inhabits the waters around the islands year-round. Known for its strength and tenacity, the GT provides an exhilarating fight, often testing the skills and endurance of anglers. These fish are commonly found around reefs, channels, and drop-offs, making them accessible to both shore and boat anglers.

An Excellent Spot for Anglers

Another prominent game fish species in Andaman is the Dogtooth Tuna, prized for its size, speed, and challenging fight. These tuna are found in deeper offshore waters and are sought after for their ability to strip line and test tackle to its limits. Anglers targeting Dogtooth Tuna often use heavy tackle and employ deep-water techniques to entice these formidable fish.

In addition to GT and Dogtooth Tuna, Andaman offers opportunities to target a range of other exciting game fish. Species like the Barracuda, wahoo, king mackerel with its sharp teeth and lightning-fast strikes, provide an adrenaline-pumping experience. The region's waters also host Sailfish, Marlins, various types of Snapper, Grouper, and a variety of trevally species, each presenting unique challenges and rewards for anglers. Whether casting from the shore, exploring coral reefs, or venturing into deeper waters, Andaman promises an unforgettable fishing adventure amidst its pristine natural beauty and abundant marine life
