When is the best time to go fishing in Andaman? Our month-by-month guide to the Andaman fishing season.
The Andaman fishing season generally runs from October to May. But the best time to fish depends on what you want to catch, the weather, and how far you want to travel.
October to November
The season opens as monsoon weather eases. Fish are often aggressive after the quieter months, and GT popping on the reefs can be excellent. Sea conditions can still be changeable.
December to February
Typically the most settled period, with comfortable weather and good access to many grounds. A popular time for private charters and solo angler trips.
March to May
Warmer days and often calm seas, which opens up longer offshore runs to remote grounds. Pelagic activity can be very good.
June to September
The southwest monsoon brings rough seas and heavy rain. Fishing is limited and most operations pause.
What Matters Most
Weather, sea state, tide, current, bait and fish activity matter more than the month. Our crew assesses conditions before every trip and plans accordingly.
Booking Tip
Peak months fill quickly. Book early, especially for fixed-date solo angler trips.
