First shared trips of the season produced steady GT action on the rising tide and a surprise sailfish on the troll.
The season opened with flat seas and clear water around Cinque and the Sisters.
Popping on the rising tide produced six GT to 38 kg over two days, with the bigger fish taking sinking stickbaits worked slowly across the reef edge.
On the run home a sailfish crashed a trolled skirt — released boat-side after a quick photo. Water temperature 29 °C, light north-easterly breeze.
All fish released.
